I call it FAUX TAXIDERMY.

My paper mache sculptures started out as a satire on the big game taxidermy found all over the west (think bull elk with massive antlers, hanging in dusty corners of every bar and grill across Montana). I began making giant polka dotted roosters, and then branched out into all my favorite animals. Foxes, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, moose, hedgehogs….. you get the picture. All my animals are made from repurposed and recycled materials, including newspaper, cardboard, discarded novels, security envelopes and vintage maps. Some creatures sport batik fabric pelts. All of them are unique, one of a kind, and come with a healthy dose of humor.
